Trilogy NextGen Role Summary Trilogy NextGen is hiring Senior Backend / API Engineers for our enterprise client in Chandler, AZ. You''ll design and build production-grade microservices and APIs in Java and Python, deploy them to a Kubernetes-based cloud platform, and partner with Front-End and Platform teams to ship high-impact features. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and operate microservices and REST APIs in Java (Spring Boot) and Python (FastAPI/Flask). Make architecture decisions on data modeling, service boundaries, and integration patterns. Build for scale, reliability, and observability - metrics, logs, distributed tracing. Partner with DevOps to deploy services on Kubernetes via CI/CD pipelines. Write unit, integration, and contract tests; participate in production support and on-call rotations as needed. Mentor mid-level engineers through code reviews and design sessions. Required Qualifications 8+ years of backend / API engineering experience. Strong production experience in BOTH Java (Spring Boot) AND Python (FastAPI, Flask, or Django). Deep expertise in

REST API

design, microservices, and event-driven architecture (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar). Solid SQL skills and experience with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB, DynamoDB). Hands-on experience deploying services to Kubernetes on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

Strong fundamentals:

data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and system design.

Preferred / Nice

-to-Have Experience with gRPC, GraphQL, or schema-first API design. Familiarity with Terraform, Helm, and modern observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry). Background in regulated industries (financial services, healthcare, supply chain). Compensation Rate is negotiable based on experience. We are open to W2 and C2C arrangements.
