May 2026 Position Summary Frameless Hardware Company runs a deep, interconnected technology stack — ERP, data fabric, e-commerce, quoting, CRM, and the integrations that tie them together — much of it undocumented and carrying years of accumulated change. This role is the senior backend engineer who goes into that stack, figures out exactly how it works, cleans it up, and keeps it healthy. Day-to-day help desk and network/desktop administration are already owned by the existing internal IT team.
This seat goes deeper:
assess and document the systems, map the architecture, build the remediation and modernization roadmap, and be the person who can drop into any backend system, find the root cause, and fix it. You report to the VP of IT Operations, who owns overall architecture and direction; you turn that into a documented, stable, well-understood environment. Key Responsibilities System assessment & discovery Audit the live environment end to end — D3/Pick and Epicor ERP, the
SQL/SSMS
data fabric and Python microservices, e-commerce, quoting/CRM, and the integrations between them. Surface tech debt, fragile dependencies, undocumented logic, and single points of failure; turn an inherited 70+ item project board into a clear picture of what actually exists. Validate what is in production vs. what is documented, and close the gap. Architecture mapping Produce and maintain the authoritative architecture map — how every core system, database, queue, API, and integration connects and where data flows. Keep the map current as systems change, so it stays the reference everyone works from. Roadmap & planning Translate the assessment findings into a prioritized remediation and modernization roadmap, sequenced by risk and business impact. Scope the backend work behind planned items — module builds, refactors, ERP/data changes, hosting and redundancy decisions — and feed realistic estimates back to the VP. Find and fix root causes Act as the senior backend troubleshooter: diagnose and resolve production issues across the stack as they surface, with minimal disruption. Tune and stabilize the moving parts — sync and integration queues, data jobs, API behavior — and put permanent fixes behind the symptoms. Backend & data depth Work hands-on across SQL Server/SSMS, Python microservices, the Customer API, EDI, and ERP-side logic. Own backend pieces of integration work (ERP ↔ e-commerce ↔ CRM ↔ shipping) and the data-fabric reliability the rest of the business depends on. Documentation Produce runbooks, data-flow and system diagrams, and remediation notes as standing deliverables — so knowledge stays with FHC, not in one person's head. Required Qualifications 5+ years in a senior systems, backend, or integration engineering role on production business systems. Strong SQL Server / SSMS skills and comfort tracing data and logic across multiple connected systems. Experience reverse-engineering and documenting undocumented or legacy systems and their integrations. Real production troubleshooting ability — able to diagnose and fix issues across unfamiliar systems under pressure. Scripting/automation (e.g., Python) for integration, data work, and tooling.
Clear technical writing:
architecture maps, runbooks, and diagrams, kept current. Preferred Qualifications Experience with ERP systems, ideally D3/Pick (MultiValue) and/or Epicor. Familiarity with API/EDI integrations, message/sync queues, and e-commerce (Magento/Hyvä) or CRM (SuiteCRM/KBMax) backends. Manufacturing or distribution domain exposure (quoting, orders, product data). Hybrid cloud experience (AWS and/or Azure) and on-prem ↔ cloud data movement. Comfort working alongside an external contract dev team on shared systems. The Environment You'll Work In FHC's stack includes D3/Pick and Epicor
ERP, SQL
Server (SSMS) and Python microservices as the data fabric, Magento/Hyvä e-commerce with a Customer API and EDI, KBMax and SuiteCRM for quoting and CRM, and OmegaTMS for shipping — connected by a web of integrations and queues. There is also an emerging on-prem AI and data-lake program; this role supports the backend and data foundation it will sit on, but the focus here is getting the existing systems clean, mapped, documented, and stable. The internal team handles help desk and network; you own the deep backend. First 6-12 Months — What Success Looks Like A completed first-pass system assessment with a documented inventory of what exists and where the risks are. An authoritative, maintained architecture map of the core systems and integrations. A prioritized remediation/modernization roadmap the VP can plan and budget against. A track record of resolved production issues and a growing library of runbooks and diagrams. Frameless Hardware Company is an equal-opportunity employer. This description reflects the role's principal duties and is not an exhaustive list; responsibilities may evolve as the IT and AI program matures.
