WordPress Developer Intern Americaneagle.com is a leading web design, development, and digital marketing agency building high-quality, cutting-edge websites and applications for clients across industries. We're looking for a WordPress Developer Intern who is eager to learn, contribute, and gain real-world experience working on modern web technologies. You'll contribute to projects for well-known brands and organizations across industries including sports, ecommerce, transportation, and food & beverage. Our portfolio includes clients like the Green Bay Packers, United Center, WeatherTech, and more. We're looking for a motivated WordPress Developer Intern to join our team and help build high-quality, scalable websites. At Americaneagle.com, you'll work alongside experienced developers using modern technologies and best practices while gaining hands-on experience across a variety of industries and digital platforms. This internship is designed to provide hands-on development experience, mentorship, and exposure to enterprise-level projects in a collaborative environment. What You'll Do
Collaborate with a development team to build and maintain WordPress websites
Assist in developing custom themes, plugins, and site functionality
Support integrations between WordPress and third-party services or APIs
Help implement responsive, accessible, and performant front-end experiences
Participate in debugging, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure quality releases
Work with senior developers to translate project requirements into technical solutions
Contribute to development workflows, including version control and CI/CD processes
Continuously learn and grow your knowledge of WordPress and modern web technologies
Requirements
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science or a related field
Basic experience with web development (coursework or personal projects)
Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Exposure to PHP or interest in learning WordPress development
Understanding of version control systems such as Git
Interest in CMS platforms, especially WordPress
Strong willingness to learn, grow, and collaborate in a team environment
Nice to Have
Experience building or customizing WordPress themes or plugins
Familiarity with REST APIs or integrating third-party services
Exposure to modern JavaScript frameworks like React
Basic understanding of Gutenberg block editor
Familiarity with build tools or local development environments
Interest in headless WordPress or modern architectures
