Senior Backend Engineer#26-06744 Charlotte, NC Onsite Contract Starts 7/07/2026 Ends 7/07/2027 Job Description Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12 month contract opportunity. This is a senior-level role focused on backend engineering for an AI Center of Excellence, working closely with data science teams to productionize machine learning models and AI capabilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for building scalable, real-time API layers that enable business applications to consume AI-driven insights such as predictions, scores, and rmendations.

Responsibilities:

Design and build RESTful APIs to expose machine learning models and AI services Develop backend services that integrate AI/ML models into enterprise systems Create well-defined API contracts that enable downstream business applications to consume model outputs Work closely with data scientists and ML engineers to productionize models Develop scalable backend services using Python or Go Implement real-time model-serving APIs, not just batch/ETL pipelines Manage service orchestration, error handling, and reliability patterns

Requirements:

7 years of software engineering experience with a lead-level mindset Strong backend development experience in Golang or Python (preferred over Java) Experience building production-grade REST APIs and microservices Strong experience with containerized environments (Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker) Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Experience with CI/CD and Git Data experience with SQL (Postgres, Oracle) and NoSQL (MongoDB, BigQuery, Redis) Solid understanding of distributed systems and service integrations Ability to work in highlyplex, dependency-driven environments Pay range: $53.28 - $61.28 per hour Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
