Job Description
About Melon Local Melon Local is a fast-growing digital marketing agency built on exceptional customer service, measurable results, and continuous innovation. Today we support more than 1,500 small and mid-sized businesses across the U.S. through paid search, paid social, lead generation, and custom-built software systems that power both our internal operations and client success. As we scale into new markets, verticals, and service lines, our engineering and development teams play a critical role in shaping how our business operates and how our clients experience our work. We are actively investing in better systems, cleaner interfaces, automation, and scalable web experiences that elevate performance across the board. We believe in transparent leadership, shared success, and giving talented people the freedom to build, improve, and innovate without unnecessary constraints. The Role We're hiring a Front-End Web Developer to build and maintain the user experiences that power Melon Local's internal tools, client dashboards, and web-based systems. This role is ideal for someone who loves clean UI, responsive design, and turning complex requirements into simple, intuitive digital experiences. You'll collaborate closely with engineering, design, and leadership to bring ideas to life and ensure our platforms feel fast, modern, and easy to use. You'll have the freedom to build, iterate, and improve across a wide range of projects — from client-facing dashboards to internal operational tools. If you care deeply about usability, performance, and building interfaces people actually enjoy using, this is your seat. What You'll Own Translate UI/UX designs into responsive, interactive web applications using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Build and maintain websites and web applications using WordPress and tools such as Elementor, Divi, and similar platforms. Develop reusable front-end components and libraries to improve consistency and development speed. Collaborate with design, engineering, and leadership teams to refine user experience and interface standards. Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and cross-browser compatibility. Ensure technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and provide feedback on implementation approaches. Work with RESTful APIs and integrate third-party services into front-end applications. Debug and resolve front-end issues across browsers, devices, and environments. Maintain clean, scalable, and maintainable code aligned with development best practices. Support ongoing improvements to internal tools and client-facing dashboards. Stay current with modern front-end frameworks, tools, and design trends. Contribute to AI-assisted development workflows where applicable to improve efficiency and output quality. What Success Looks Like First 30 days: Learn existing systems, understand current UI structure and tooling, and begin contributing to small front-end enhancements and bug fixes. First 60 days: Independently deliver front-end features across internal tools and client websites, while improving UI consistency and performance standards. First 90 days: Fully contributing as a reliable front-end owner across multiple projects, proactively improving UI systems, and helping establish scalable front-end standards across the organization. What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field required. 2+ years of professional front-end development experience. Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive design principles. Hands-on experience building websites in WordPress, Elementor, Divi, or similar CMS/page builder platforms. Experience working with REST APIs and integrating third-party services. Familiarity with Git and version control workflows. Strong understanding of browser compatibility, debugging, and performance optimization. Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (React preferred). Exposure to modern CSS tooling such as Tailwind CSS or SASS is a plus. Understanding of back-end systems and integration concepts (C#, .NET Core, Azure exposure is a plus). Strong visual design sensibility and attention to UI detail (experience with Figma or Adobe XD is a bonus). Passion for building clean, scalable, and user-friendly digital experiences. Familiarity with modern development practices including testing and CI/CD workflows is a plus. Tech Stack You'll Live In HTML, CSS, JavaScript, WordPress, Elementor, Divi, React (preferred), REST APIs, Git, modern CSS frameworks, design tools (Figma/Adobe XD), and AI-assisted development tools.
