Senior Backend Java Developer (Kafka, Redis & HPC)

Whippany, NJ (Hybrid) Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Java Developer with strong experience in Java, Kafka, Redis, and High-Performance Computing (HPC) environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing scalable backend systems while working closely with globally distributed teams. Required Experience 10+ years of hands-on experience in backend application development using Java. Strong expertise in building and maintaining high-performance, scalable backend services. Experience working in enterprise-level environments and large-scale distributed systems. Required Skills Strong proficiency in Java/J2EE development. Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka for event-driven and real-time data processing. Strong experience with Redis for caching, data storage, and performance optimization. Experience working with High-Performance Computing (HPC) environments and performance-critical applications. Knowledge of multithreading, concurrency, and distributed computing concepts. Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and messaging systems. Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and performance tuning. Responsibilities Design, develop, and support scalable backend applications using Java. Implement and optimize messaging solutions using Kafka. Leverage Redis for caching, session management, and data access optimization. Develop and maintain high-performance solutions within HPC environments. Collaborate with architects, developers, and business stakeholders across global teams. Troubleshoot production issues and ensure application reliability and performance. Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and system design activities. Preferred Qualifications Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform). Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Soft Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively with large, cross-functional, and geographically distributed teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
