WAMS Technical Resource Backend & Cloud Integration Duration :
12 months with possible extension Overview Client is seeking an experienced WAMS technical resource with strong backend development skills, SQL expertise, and Unix-based integration capabilities. This contractor will support enhancements, maintenance, and data operations within the current Oracle Utilities Work and Asset Management (WAMS) environment, while also enabling secure file-based integrations to Oracle Cloud. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Oracle Utilities WAM v1.9x, strong data processing and backend skills, and the ability to support existing Unix/Shell automation and file-transfer workflows as they transition toward cloud-based patterns. Key Responsibilities Support and maintain backend processes within Oracle Utilities WAMS v1.9x Develop and document reusable patterns for data extraction, transformation, and integration Ensure data design supports operational needs, audit controls, and performance requirements Support ingestion of GDE datasets into Oracle Autonomous Database (ADB). Provide day-to-day technical support, troubleshooting, and data correction across WAMS components Business Rule Definition & Functional Alignment Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand and document WAMS functional processes Translate business requirements into technical logic and backend data flows Document representations of work orders, labor, materials, and assets within WAMS and ensure alignment to operational workflows Support business process mapping by connecting backend design with field and back-office operations Data Mapping & Integration Map WAMS data structures for reporting, analytics, and cloud ingestion needs Define transformation logic for exporting WAMS data into CSV, XML, JSON, or other structured formats Architect secure and auditable data-exchange workflows leveraging SFTP and Unix-based file movement pipelines Support the migration of existing file-transfer processes to Oracle Cloud Object Storage Development & Technical Requirements Develop SQL queries, stored procedures, scripts, and extraction routines for WAMS backend support Build and maintain Shell/Unix scripts used for automation, data processing, and secure transfers Ensure all integrations follow City Light architectural and security standards Troubleshoot backend and integration issues, identify root causes, and implement lasting solutions Feedback Loop & System Update Management Develop or refine processes that interpret cloud ingestion feedback or batch responses Create mechanisms to update WAMS with integration results, including reconciliation statuses, error records, and operational flags Ensure all backend synchronization components are traceable and auditable Testing, QA, and UAT Support Support system integration testing and backend validation activities Prepare test datasets, simulate end-to-end backend scenarios, and assist in triage Document technical components thoroughly to ensure production readiness and long-term supportability Minimum Qualifications 5+ years hands-on experience with Oracle Utilities WAM (preferably v1.9x) Strong backend development skillset including SQL, data extraction, and ETL workflows Proficiency in Shell scripting, Unix/Linux environments, and secure file-transfer processes (SFTP) Experience supporting or migrating file-based integrations to Oracle Cloud Object Storage Strong understanding of relational database structures and enterprise data patterns Preferred Qualifications Experience working in utility operations or asset management environments Familiarity with transitioning legacy processing pipelines to cloud-native approaches Experience within regulated or municipal utility organizations Background in large-scale data automation or backend pipeline development
