More about our team Join our team on a 27-bed Medical-Surgical unit where compassionate, patient-centered care is at the heart of everything we do. As part of a collaborative team of Registered Nurses (RNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), you will care for a diverse patient population while building strong clinical skills in a supportive environment. With a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio and 1:12 CNA-to-patient ratio, you will play a vital role in comprehensive patient assessment, care planning, treatment administration, and promoting patient comfort and safety. How you'll contribute A Telemetry Tech who excels in this role: Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors. Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately. Identifies and corrects for artifacts. Reports abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in patient physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Tests equipment for proper working order. Additional requirements include:
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) Required; Completion of Cardiac Telemetry Certification within 1 year of hire; Evidence of successful completion of Telemetry/Dysrhythmia course
Required Skills:
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Licenses:
EMT, EMT-P, CNA, SRNA, or CMA. Preferred or completion of first semester clinical rotation in an accredited Nursing Degree Program (ADN or BSN).
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Telemetry Tech ONLY:
Completion of a basic telemetry monitoring course and/or completion of competency training for basic arrhythmia interpretation may be required as determined by the department director.
