Job Description:
The company is looking for individuals to join our Post-Trauma Mental Health Support Team. This program aims to bridge the gap in mental health awareness and provide support to parents, teachers, and communities in the aftermath of recent disasters, such as hurricanes. These positions are for individuals impacted by disasters, as they bring insights into the challenges families face. Each role is designed to empower communities, foster recovery, resilience, and long-term well-being, while utilizing diverse tools such as resource guides, outdoor activities, and advocacy to restore unity and reduce trauma. Identify, research, and compile mental health resources for parents, teachers, and the broader community, creating user-friendly guides for accessing these services Provide emotional support to individuals during events, offering trauma and stress coping strategies, and facilitating conversations about the mental health benefits of outdoor activities such as fishing Collaborate with schools, families, and local organizations to expand available resources and identify individuals who may need additional mental health services Lead educational sessions to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and encourage open conversations about mental health challenges and recovery Provide on-the-ground support to individuals and families, addressing their immediate mental health needs and connecting them to appropriate resources Adapt strategies to meet evolving community needs in the face of ongoing challenges
Work Environment:
The role offers the possibility to work remotely when applicable The position may involve travel to local disaster-affected areas
