About Godshall's Godshall's Quality Meats is a family-owned, employee-owned (ESOP) smoked meat products company based in Lebanon, PA. We believe in treating every team member as an equal, celebrating wins together, and trusting each other to do great work. Schedule 3rd Shift, Sunday through Thursday, 10:00 PM to 7:30 AM, plus Fridays as needed. Mandatory overtime required. Hours are subject to change. Compensation Pay is based on experience and will be discussed during the interview process. Position Summary The Maintenance Mechanic Technician III is responsible for preventative maintenance, repair, and installation of processing and packaging equipment, systems, and utilities throughout our Lebanon facility. You will ensure the reliable operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing both planned and unplanned maintenance on production, packaging, and processing equipment, along with utility systems that provide a continuous supply of heat, steam, cooling, electrical, power, gas, and compressed air for overnight operations. All tasks are performed following safety guidelines while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the company. Key Responsibilities Follow all applicable Safety and Health policies and practices, and inform the immediate supervisor about any unsafe or unhealthy conditions observed in the workplace. Consult with the immediate supervisor regarding issues, unusual problems or developments, and clarification on direction and scope of efforts. Perform equipment inspection, maintenance, and repair requirements. Provide technical assistance for new machinery and adapt existing processes. Conduct ongoing preventative visual inspections of machinery and load-handling equipment, and provide all scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance and repair as required. Provide on-call repair service for machinery. Order and keep track of machine parts as necessary. Provide all mechanical and technical applications to adapt and install new production equipment, including pre-consideration of electrical, computer, layout, and mechanical applications. Read, study, and review manuals and relevant literature to stay current on new and existing equipment. Complete preventative maintenance reports and other documents to communicate equipment status and the action required for effective operation of production equipment. Proficiently read electrical schematics and work through a methodical approach to prove out systems. Fix mechanical and electrical issues, including vacuum issues, using best maintenance practices to find and fix the root cause. Troubleshoot 99% of failures in a timely period. Understand the theory of how each machine in the plant works, and continue to improve technical skills. Qualifications Required High School diploma or GED equivalent, or 1 to 3 months of related experience in a manufacturing environment, training, or education. Able to read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and work with a maintenance computer system for work order processing and completion. Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic skills. Basic computer and math skills. Ability to interact effectively with technicians, supervisors, and members of other trades and plant employees. Able to safely use manual tools and power equipment common in the construction trades. Able to handle hazardous materials safely and tolerate exposure to heavy machinery and other environmental hazards. Understanding of and ability to successfully perform Maintenance Technician Level 1 and Level 2 responsibilities, and able to show and teach team members the skills and processes gained from that experience. Willingness and availability to work the 3rd shift schedule (10:00 PM to 7:30 AM) and mandatory overtime. Preferred Fabrication skills, including machining and welding with TIG/MIG. Experience troubleshooting PLCs and industrial process controls. Experience with CMMS systems (MPulse). Experience working in a food processing plant. Understanding of HACCP, SOPs, GMPs, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO). Bilingual English/Spanish. Working Conditions Exposure to a plant environment that is wet, very humid, and undergoes temperature changes, from hot to cold. Fast paced environment working around heavy meat processing equipment. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Physical Requirements Must be able to perform extensive walking and standing throughout the shift on a daily basis. Ability to work at heights. Ability to identify and distinguish colors. Ability to perform physical activities such as bending, standing, climbing, crouching, stooping, and kneeling. Ability to reach with hands and arms, and use the sense of smell to help diagnose and repair equipment/machinery. Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move equipment up to 50 lbs. unassisted. Moderate hand/wrist flexion and gripping pressure.
