Part-time Pay:
$15.00 - $17.00 per hourBenefits:
Employee discount Flexible schedule Application Question(s): Tell us about a time you had to enforce a rule or policy that someone did not like. How did you handle it? How do you balance accountability with kindness and respect, especially during stressful situations? This position requires helping lead a team in a respectful, encouraging, and hands-on way. At Caring Heart, we believe good leadership is not about controlling people or simply giving orders .... it's about helping others grow, keeping communication calm and professional, and stepping in to help wherever needed. Can you describe your leadership and communication style when helping guide employees or volunteers who may need correction, coaching, or additional support? Please give us an example. Our environment will include crying children, frustrated shoppers/clients needing services, and heavy workloads and unloading heavy furniture (with team lift). What strategies help you stay calm and positive when it feels overwhelming to help de-escalate the situations? Caring Heart is a ministry-minded nonprofit focused on serving our community with kindness, humility, compassion, and respect for others. While we serve people from all walks of life, we strive to maintain a positive, service-oriented workplace culture. Does this type of environment align with what you are looking for in a workplace? Explain to us why this would be a great fit for you. Caring Heart is a mission-driven nonprofit thrift store, and this position is often more physically and emotionally demanding than a typical retail job. Many people choose Caring Heart because they connect with our mission, our culture, and the impact we make in the community. What specifically interests you about working at Caring Heart instead of another retail position? What about our mission, work environment, leadership style, or community impact stands out to you personally? We'd also love to hear what type of workplace culture helps you feel motivated, valued, and successful long-term. Many people have a misconception that all thrift stores provide every single service. We get people who get angry because we will not pay their rent, drive them to doctors appointments, or dozens of other things we do not provide. How comfortable are you interacting with customers and de-escalating emotions from those who often come to seek emotional support or encouragement during challenging times and seek services that we can not offer?Work Location:
