Job Description

Job Title:
TIG Welder Job Description This role focuses on precision TIG welding and fabrication of custom stainless steel modular process systems for the pharmaceutical, biotech, and food and beverage industries. You will work in a clean, organized, and well-lit fabrication shop, performing high-quality welds on stainless steel and some carbon steel, using blueprints and a variety of hand and power tools to build custom systems, frames, and piping assemblies. Responsibilities Perform high-quality TIG welding on stainless steel and some carbon steel components. Complete pipe welds, tube welds, and frame welds across a range of material thicknesses, from approximately 3/4 inch to 18 gauge. Fit, assemble, and weld custom modular systems according to engineering drawings and specifications. Interpret and work from blueprints and technical prints to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly. Carry out fitting and welding duties for a variety of custom projects for pharmaceutical, biotech, and food and beverage applications. Use hand and power tools safely and effectively during fitting, welding, grinding, and assembly operations. Grind and polish welds to meet required quality and cosmetic standards. Collaborate with team members in a custom fabrication environment to meet project timelines and quality expectations. Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all shop safety procedures. Essential Skills Proven TIG welding experience on stainless steel, with some experience on carbon steel. Approximately 5 years of TIG welding and fabrication experience. Ability to perform pipe, tube, and frame welds on material thicknesses ranging from roughly 3/4 inch to 18 gauge. Strong blueprint reading skills and the ability to work accurately from prints. Hands-on experience with fitting, fabrication, assembly, and use of hand and power tools. At least 1 year of experience grinding and polishing welds to a high-quality finish. Welding technology degree or equivalent technical welding education. Ability to work full-time on a Monday-Friday day shift with occasional overtime. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working on custom, one-off or small-batch fabrication projects. Background in fabrication for sanitary or process systems is beneficial. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing clean, precise welds. Ability to work both independently and as part of a fabrication team. Solid work ethic, reliability, and consistent attendance. Why Work Here? Work Environment This is a full-time role in a very clean, organized, and custom fabrication shop. Standard hours are Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with no weekend work and the possibility of up to approximately 5 hours of overtime as needed. The facility employs around 70 people, with a significant portion working in the shop, fostering a collaborative, team-oriented environment. You will work primarily with stainless steel and some carbon steel, using TIG welding equipment, hand tools, and power tools in a well-lit, professional setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Atkinson, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
