  • $80,000 Annually Length of Work Year 12 months Employment Type Full Time Job Summary Job Summary Highland Academy Charter School is searching for a well-qualified candidate to work with our Special Education students.
Responsibilities include:
  • Provides students with specialized academic instruction in alignment with their IEP goals and services
  • Uses school-approved, research-based instructional strategies to facilitate learning in core curricular areas
  • Demonstrates knowledge of grade level subject matter
  • Supports instruction provided in the general education setting
  • Develops comprehensive and legally defensible IEPs by integrating information compiled from various sources such as: psychological reports, academic reports, other related service provider reports, curriculum based measurements, and parent input, to be reviewed and modified as appropriate by the IEP team
  • Develops individualized goals that are measurable, provide educational benefit to students, and are aligned to state content standards.
  • Monitors individual student's progress utilizing data from both curriculum based measurement and student performance on his or her IEP goals; adjusts instruction as needed based on data and team approval
  • Schedules IEP meetings with all required team members as required by law
  • Demonstrates knowledge of special education laws as well as Highland Academy policies and procedures
  • Implements and monitors behavior support plans as needed for individual students
  • Collaborates regularly with general education teachers and related service providers to provide push-in specialized academic instruction.
Attends general education planning meetings as needed to provide co-teaching support as needed.
Requirements / Qualifications
Valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential
