Job Description
Under general supervision, the Tool Crib Attendant is responsible for organizing, operating, and maintaining of the tool crib.
Essential Job Functions:
Performs any combination of (but not limited to) the following duties according to specific department guidelines:- Issue tools and equipment to appropriate production personnel to meet production needs.
- Maintains a log depicting the assignment of tools to specific personnel.
- Inspect new and repaired tools and equipment for proper operation.
- Sharpens and prepared tools and accessories for use in production operations.
- Maintains a tool inventory and alerts Mfg Eng. when replacement tools are needed in advance of when Production needs them.
- Per the production schedule, prepares tooling to be used in advance of the job starting.
- Perform necessary preventative maintenance and repairs on tools and equipment including but not limited to coolants, oils, fluids, belts, etc.
- Perform general cleanup, clerical and/or maintenance work incidental to the operation of the tool crib.
- Practices and observes all safety policies, procedures, and practices.
- Request quotes from vendors/cutting tool manufactures.
- Order tooling, create purchase order request. Reconcile received goods.
- Inventory/stock consumables to min/max quantities.
- Establish visual management and controls such cutting oils, lubrication oils, coolant.
- Verify CAP system quantities are accurate as supplied from MSC.
- Vantage training and basic knowledge of related modules.
- Maintain fixture storage rack and assign location.
Education/Experience:
Education:
High School graduate or equivalent.- Prior tool crib experience is preferred. Minimum of 3 years machine shop experience.
- Knowledge of machine shop tools, cutters, inserts, etc. a must.
- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
- Basic computer skills, specifically
Excel Manual Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds on occasion.
