Job Description
Night Shift, 11:00 PM-7:00 AM, Sunday-Thursday Typical starting pay rate, $16.90/hr.-$19.00/hr., plus $2.50 Shift Differential What Can We Give You? Ditch Witch:
This employee sets up tooling, jigs, and fixtures for the machines in the Components and Service Parts area. He or she also cleans and maintains jigs and fixtures, helps maintain inventory levels of tooling, and performs other duties as assigned. What Will You Do? Receive and understand instructions needed to select and set up tooling, equipment, jigs, fixtures, etc. Information may come from written order cards or conversations with supervisors and operators. Install cutting tools in fixtures, boring bars, etc., and assembly components. This includes using hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, etc.). Adjust/calibrate set-ups. Measuring set-ups with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, depth/plug gauges, etc.) and an electronic height gauge. Converting measurements between fractional inch, decimal inch, and metric systems. Inspect, clean, and maintain tooling, jigs, and fixtures. Place tooling into racks or trays. Deliver tooling to operators. Use a PC to help maintain inventory records of tooling, fixtures, and parts. Meet or exceed typical expectations for productivity, quality, attendance, and safety. This includes work independently much of the time, with limited supervision. What Do You Need? Have an appropriate machining background, including at least two years of machining experience, complete vocational tech training in machining, or the equivalent. Demonstrate appropriate knowledge of machine shop tooling and fixtures. Demonstrate appropriate reading, clerical, and math skills. Be able to regularly handle items weighing up to 15 pounds, and occasionally handle items weighing in excess of 40 pounds. This may require carrying the tooling or moving it with a cart, hand truck, or hoist. Be able to maintain positive, professional relationships with operators and supervisors in a demanding, teamwork environment. Have a good work record, including indications of strong self-motivation, high productivity, reliable attendance, attention to quality, ability to learn new skills, and a cordial, cooperative personality.Work Environment:
Manufacturing plant conditions (indoors, with variable temperature and humidity, noise, and dirt). Physical hazards such as powered vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic, sharp objects, moving machinery, and materials handling.
