Share this job SVGs not supported by this browser. Description A client of 1 Resource Group is seeking to hire an experienced and dependable Tool Technician to join their team. As a Tool Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing a variety of industrial and contractor equipment, including pneumatic, electric, and hydraulic tools, as well as rigging equipment. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong mechanical aptitude, a commitment to quality workmanship, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced shop environment. Dependability and flexibility, including overtime availability when needed, are essential for success in this role. This is a day shift position. Key Responsibilities Perform routine adjustments, testing, inspections, maintenance, and repairs on industrial tools and equipment. Troubleshoot and repair small gas engines. Complete required documentation, including work orders and parts orders. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Plan, organize, and carry out assignments as directed. Maintain compliance with all applicable company policies, procedures, and safety standards. Adhere to Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies and safe work practices. Apply and develop core technical skills related to the position. Maintain strong attendance and punctuality standards. Perform additional duties as assigned. Education Requirements High School Diploma or GED required. Technical school certification or vocational training preferred. Certifications, Licenses & Registrations No certifications or licenses required. Supervisory Responsibilities None. Requirements Minimum Qualifications Strong mechanical aptitude required. Minimum of three (3) years of directly related experience repairing tools, equipment, or machinery, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred experience repairing:
Manual Chain Hoists and Pullers Pneumatic Tuggers / Winches Pneumatic Impacts Power Tools Electric Threaders Electric and Pneumatic Milling Equipment Moderate knowledge of tool repair techniques and craftsmanship, including electrical and pneumatic tools. Professional demeanor with strong customer service skills. Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including lifting, climbing, standing for extended periods, and working in a shop environment. Ability to obtain an internal forklift certification/license. Willingness to work overtime and weekends as workload demands. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Ability to multitask while maintaining safety and quality standards. Strong attention to detail. Must provide personal repair tools; bench equipment will be supplied by the client. The physical demands listed below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. This role is physically demanding and labor-intensive due to the nature of the equipment being serviced. Responsibilities may include heavy lifting, climbing on equipment, and performing grinding tasks in various positions.Employees may frequently:
Stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, push, pull, and climb ladders Lift, carry, and move materials and equipment Use repetitive hand and arm motions Demonstrate hand-eye-foot coordination Work in varying physical positions throughout the day Additional requirements include: Frequently lifting up to 25 pounds Occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds Standing for more than 90% of the workday Close vision and attention to detail Work Environment The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this role. Reasonable accommodations may be made where appropriate. Position is based primarily in a repair shop environment. Work may be performed independently or as part of a team. Fast-paced conditions and deadlines may create occasional stress. Frequent exposure to heat, humidity, temperature fluctuations, and loud noise. Occasional exposure to manufacturing or production areas with moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, fumes, and industrial equipment. Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, and hard hats, as applicable. Travel & Additional Requirements Availability for after-hours emergency calls as needed. Overtime and weekend work may be required based on workload demands.
