Tow Truck Operator / Recovery Driver

Job Summary We are currently seeking a dependable and motivated Tow Truck Operator / Recovery Driver to join our growing towing and recovery team. Duties Operate tow trucks, including flatbed and traditional tow trucks, to recover and transport vehicles safely and efficiently. Perform vehicle diagnostics and basic automotive repairs to troubleshoot issues during recovery or roadside assistance. Load and unload vehicles using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or winches, ensuring secure handling at all times. Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients, explaining services, and addressing concerns professionally. Manage conflict situations calmly and effectively, maintaining a positive experience for customers even under challenging circumstances. Maintain accurate logs of all recoveries, loads, unloads, and service calls for reporting and record-keeping purposes. Conduct routine inspections of tow trucks and recovery equipment to ensure safety standards are met and perform minor mechanical maintenance as needed. Requirements Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience operating tow trucks, flatbeds, or similar heavy-duty vehicles is preferred. Mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive diagnostics, repair, or mechanic work. Familiarity with manual transmissions and automotive systems to troubleshoot vehicle issues efficiently. Ability to load, unload, and secure vehicles safely using appropriate tools like forklifts or specialized recovery equipment. Strong customer service skills with the ability to manage conflict professionally in high-pressure situations. Knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and basic repairs to assist during recovery operations. Experience driving tow trucks in various conditions; familiarity with forklift operation is a plus.
