JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for providing administrative support to the traffic function of the organization

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

(Other duties may be assigned) Responsible for all aspects of logging orders, routing, shipping, and tracking of outbound orders. Responsible for obtaining freight charges for all shipments shipped; prepare paperwork (separate bills of ladings, delivery receipts and stamp date) for the billing department. Determine shipping method for materials, using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes and rates. Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies, for recordkeeping purposes. Contact carrier representative to make arrangements and to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of material. Confer and correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages and nonconformance to specifications. Compute amounts, such as space available and shipping, storage, and demurrage.
