Traffic Control Flagger

Job Summary Join our dynamic construction team as a Traffic Control Flagger, where you will play a vital role in ensuring safety and smooth traffic flow around active construction sites. Your energetic presence will guide vehicles and pedestrians safely through work zones, helping to prevent accidents and maintain efficient operations. Responsibilities Direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic at construction sites using clear hand signals, signs, and flagging devices to ensure safety for workers and the public Communicate effectively with construction crews, equipment operators, and drivers to coordinate movements and prevent hazards Set up and remove traffic control devices such as cones, barricades, and signage according to project plans and safety standards Monitor work zones continuously for potential safety issues or traffic congestion, responding promptly to any incidents or concerns Follow all safety protocols and procedures diligently, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times Assist with the setup of construction equipment including heavy machinery like dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, dump trucks, front loader trucks, and utility locating tools when needed Maintain accurate records of daily activities, traffic flow patterns, and any incidents or hazards encountered during shifts Skills Strong understanding of traffic control principles and safety regulations Ability to operate or assist with heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, dump trucks, front loader trucks, and utility locating tools (experience with Caterpillar equipment is a plus) Construction site experience with knowledge of paving, heavy machinery operation, and general construction processes Excellent communication skills for clear signaling and coordination with team members and drivers Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks in various weather conditions Attention to detail for setting up traffic control devices accurately and maintaining safety standards Ability to quickly respond to changing site conditions or emergencies in a proactive manner Join us in creating safer work environments while gaining hands-on experience in construction operations!
