Transit & Rail Sales Representative

Irwin Transportation Products is seeking a driven and motivated sales professional to support the continued growth of our transportation division. This role focuses on developing and maintaining customer relationships within the light rail transit and streetcar industries while supporting the sale of signaling systems, track switches, vehicle components, and related engineered products. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with both customers and internal engineering teams while managing projects from opportunity development through completion.

Position Details Full-Time Salaried Position Location:

Blairsville, PA or Remote Approximately 70% Travel Required Training Available Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Conduct sales activities for light rail transit and streetcar signaling systems, track switches, and vehicle components Review customer bid specifications alongside the engineering team Assist with determining project costs, margins, markups, and overall profitability Support engineering personnel with customer specification interpretation and project requirements Monitor project timelines and coordinate with internal teams to meet customer expectations Travel to customer sites for product commissioning and project support Interface directly with customers regarding company performance, capabilities, and ongoing projects Participate in sales meetings and strategic planning discussions Plan and attend trade shows to promote company products and capabilities Assist with product brochures, marketing initiatives, and sales materials Travel independently and alongside other sales and engineering team members Qualifications Bachelors Degree preferred 1-2 years of sales experience preferred Knowledge of ISO quality standards Ability to represent multiple product groups across various company locations throughout the United States Preferred Skills Ability to read and interpret customer specifications and technical drawings Transit or streetcar industry sales experience Mechanical and/or electrical aptitude Strong communication and cold-calling skills Positive attitude and self-motivation Why Join Us This is a critical role within our Transportation Group and offers the opportunity to work directly with leadership while helping drive growth in the rail and transit industry.
