Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Transmission Technician to join our dynamic automotive service team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicle transmissions and related powertrain components. Your expertise will ensure our customers' vehicles operate smoothly, safely, and efficiently. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a wide range of vehicles, including GM models and other popular brands, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and mechanical skills to deliver top-tier automotive service. Duties Diagnose transmission issues using automotive diagnostics tools and schematics to identify faults accurately. Repair or replace transmissions, clutches, torque converters, and other powertrain components in accordance with manufacturer specifications. Perform routine vehicle maintenance such as oil changes, wheel alignments, suspension checks, tire services, shocks & struts replacement, and brake repairs. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and automotive electrical systems knowledge to complete repairs efficiently. Interpret technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electronic systems within vehicles. Conduct vehicle inspections to assess mechanical condition and recommend necessary repairs or maintenance services. Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair procedures clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the service process. Skills Proven dealership experience with a strong understanding of automotive repair procedures. Expertise in automotive diagnostics, including electronic systems such as ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) and automotive electrical systems. Solid mechanical knowledge of transmissions, diesel engines, powertrains, suspension systems, and brake systems. Proficiency with schematics interpretation for complex vehicle systems. Experience working on GM vehicles is a plus but not required; familiarity with auto estimating is beneficial. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools safely and effectively. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly. Knowledge of auto body repair processes is advantageous but not essential.
