Transportation Associate

Markman Peat Corp. is a manufacturer and wholesale distributor of soils, premium soils, decorative rock and mulch to the Lawn and Garden Industry.

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Transportation Associate will work in a team environment to manage, plan and coordinate our daily product shipments from our 4 manufacturing sites but will be based out of our corporate office in LeClaire, IA. Annually we ship over 17,000 truckloads of manufactured products to our customers. To succeed in this role, you should have knowledge of supply chain management, transportation laws, and an understanding of dispatching orders and tracking transportation vehicles. You should also be familiar with safety processes and legal regulations. Ultimately, you will ensure that all shipments are handled quickly, safely and within budget.

REQUIREMENTS / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Plan, organize, direct and coordinate optimum daily deliveries from production to our customers. Recruit sufficient trucking companies to meet the company's delivery requirements. Tracking order fulfillment to meet customer requirements. Monitor and report on transportation costs. Ensure all shipping documents are properly received. Research and suggest cost-effective shipping methods. Qualification requirements Proven work experience in logistic, shipping or similar role. Solid Knowledge of supply chain management. Experience preparing and tracking order fulfillment. Must be able to effectively multi-task, problem solve in a fast-paced environment and be exceptionally organized to achieve required goals. Familiarity with logistics software such as Shipwell or others. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and computer technology High School diploma at a minimum with some college experience preferred.

$22.00 - $24.00 per hour
