POSITION SUMMARY

The Transportation Yard Coordinator is responsible for linking the shipment companies with the accredited Buildings and or Docks to assist them in delivering their freight. The Transportation Yard Coordinator is responsible for matching authorized and reliable transportation carriers to the shippers and coordinating all of the receiving needs.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Act as the interlocutor that maintains a professional relationship between the transportation agency who performs the task of transporting the goods and the organization. Coordinate the shipping needs for the company by examining items, destination, route, dock, and delivery time. Plays an important part in providing the best forms of customer service to help in providing a pleasant visit to deliver products and services. Keep customers and Team Leaders informed by forwarding notices, shipment date and method, and current status; answering questions. Be fluent in the Yardview Management System and coordinate all incoming deliveries. Monitor personnel and/or equipment locations and utilization to coordinate service and schedules. Record and maintain files and records of customer requests, work services performed, charges, expenses, inventory, and other dispatch information. Verify items shipped by matching bill of ladings; reconciling quantities; noting discrepancies. Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Experience in load planning, routing, posting, dispatching, and brokering. Experience and knowledge with 3rd party software and TMS packages. Clerical

• knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures. Public Safety and Security
• knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, and/or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.

Drug-free, able to pass a drug test
