Job Description

Ready to take your career to new heights? The City of Sioux City, Iowa seeks an experienced leader to step in as our Airport Director for the Sioux Gateway Airport (SUX). This person directs operations, maintenance, planning, manages a 34M FY2027 budget, and air service development under FAA Part 139 and TSA Part 1542.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Public/Business Administration plus 6 years of airport management experience (with 3 years supervisory); OR High School/GED plus 10 years experience (with 3 years supervisory); OR equivalent mix. Must have FAA FAR Part 139 experience, a valid driver's license, and pass a 10-year
CHRC/TSA
check. AAAE accreditation required within 1 year of hire. Must be a certified 14 CFR 1542 Airport Security Coordinator.
Salary:
$129,833.60 - $190,112.00 Annually + Benefits.

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Airport/Aviation Management, Public Administration, Business Administration or related field and six (6) years of full-time work experience in Airport Management, Operations, Administration, Planning or Construction including three (3) years of supervisory experience; OR Graduation from high school or G.E.D. and ten (10) years of full-time work experience in Airport Management, Operations, Administration, Planning or Construction including three (3) years of supervisory experience; OR any equivalent combination of experience and training. Demonstrated experience in FAA FAR Part 139 airport work. Must obtain AAAE accreditation by the American Association of Airport Executives within 1 year from date of hire. Must be a certified 14 CFR 1542 Airport Security Coordinator (ASC) and serve as the primary liaison to the TSA. Possession of a valid driver's license. Must be able to pass a 10-year Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) and all applicable TSA required security reviews.
