SUMMARY OVERVIEW
- The Ramp Lead is responsible for overseeing and coordinating activities on the airport ramp to ensure the efficient and safe handling of aircraft and ground services.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- + Guide inbound/outbound aircraft to and from gate without damage or injury + Communicate effectively with flight crews, ground staff, and operations control to ensure timely aircraft turnarounds + Conduct regular inspections of the ramp area and equipment to maintain safety standards + Respond to operational challenges and troubleshoot issues as they arise + Train and mentor ramp staff on best practices and safety protocols + Maintain accurate records of ramp activities and incidents + Ensure compliance with all DOT regulations as required and guidelines, including overseeing the safe and legal operation of airport vehicles, equipment, and personnel involved in airside and landside operations + Safely lift, unload, load and transport baggage, mail and cargo to and from aircraft and airport + Protect baggage and other equipment from damage, loss and weather conditions + Ability to drive and operate heavy ground equipment, such as tugs, cargo carts, service trucks and belt loaders + Assist in record keeping and documentation to ensure correct routing of baggage + Use of personal protective equipment, including hearing protection + Maintain area cleanliness + Execute daily quality control checks on equipment + Exemplify PrimeFlight customer service and safety standards + Perform any additional duties as assigned by management •
QUALIFICATIONS
- + 18 years of age or older + Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY/WORKING CONDITIONS MAY INCLUDE
- + Ability to lift up to 70 pounds + Prolonged standing and walking in an indoor/outdoor environment as applicable + May need to reach with arms and grasp with hands + May need to push, pull + May need to bend, stretch, squat, kneel + Exposure to moderate and at times high noise levels + Exposure to outdoor elements + Be able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms + Tasks may involve repetitive motions of the arms, wrists, hands and/or fingers + Specific vision abilities required for this job include: Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus) The pay rate listed on this post is what the company reasonably expects to pay for this position.
