Job Description

The City of Sugar Land is seeking a temporary Ramp Agent at the Sugar Land Regional Airport . This position is anticipated to begin in June and continue through October. Please note that this timeline is an estimate and may be adjusted at any time during the duration of the assignment. Why Should You Join Our Team? As a Ramp Agent you will: Marshal arriving and departing aircraft safely on the ramp and properly place and remove chocks to ensure safe ground operations. Greet flight crews and passengers upon arrival and departure and ensure the FBO Standard of Service is followed. Provide the best possible levels of service to our customers in a welcoming, friendly and respectful manner - make the customer feel at home. Provide concierge-style customer services; special requests made by customers needing assistance. Assist passengers with luggage and valet vehicles as needed. Have rental cars, valets, limos staged on the ramp to meet aircraft Assist with catering, coffee, ice and papers on aircraft. Distribute and manage correct paperwork of rental cars for customers when outside of rental car hours. Communicate effectively over the two-way radio using aviation terminology at the same time. Communicate with Line Crew and ASR's for accurate, optimal service. Help maintain the airport shuttle; including transporting flight crews to hotels, washing, detailing, maintaining interior appearance. Cleaning will be done at the wash rack, supplies will be supplied; fueling will be at the fuel farm and recorded.
Maintain customer amenity areas:
Oversee storage room and the mail room; oversee that the catering room and FBO kitchen are clean and orderly; monitor complimentary newspapers.
Ramp security:
grant gate access to customers that require ramp access and escort to their aircraft. Resolve customer questions and/or complaints and assist with trade shows and special events as required. Perform any other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Line Supervisors, Customer Experience Manager or Airport Management.
Formal Education:
High school diploma or GED.
Relatable Work Experience:
One year of previous experience in customer relations Fixed Based Operator (FBO) experience is preferred. Training (License and/or Certification): Valid Texas Drivers License This position is anticipated to begin in June and continue through October.
