Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Flight Inspector 3 /4 located in Palmdale, CA This Inspector's duties include:
  • Inspect demonstrator and production aircraft systems, equipment and parts for operation and conformance to government and company standards and specifications.
  • Inspects the installation and operation of electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, oil, and emergency systems and other parts and equipment of aircraft.
  • Perform preflight and postflight inspections in accordance with standard procedure on flight-proven aircraft.
  • Approves non-flight-proven aircraft for flight.
  • Inspects, adjustments, repairs, or modifications made on the aircraft.
  • May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Basic Qualifications Level 3:
  • High School Diploma with at least 4 years experience in aerospace with emphasis in aircraft manufacturing and quality assurance OR an Associate's Degree with at least 2 years in aerospace with emphasis in aircraft manufacturing and quality assurance
  • Must be capable of performing mechanical measurement, test witness, processing of nonconforming material into the MRB and verification of reworked or repaired product
  • Must be capable of obtaining Periodic Review and Material Review Board Authority for Non-Conformance documentation, disposition, and processing
  • Must have an active DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
  • Must be willing to work any shift
  • Must be able to pass medical/respiratory exams
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 6+ years' experience working with production, flight test, and engineering
  • An A&P license is a plus
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical issues clearly to all levels of leadership
Primary Level Salary Range:
$72,600.00 - $121,000.00
Secondary Level Salary Range:
$86,300.00 - $143,000.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
