Duties Help A Cabin Safety Inspector duties involve developing, administering, or enforcing regulions and standards concerning cabin safety policy and operions, including safety aspects of aviion facilities, equipment, and procedures. Aviion Safety Inspectors apply a broad knowledge of the aviion industry, the general principle of aviion safety and the Federal laws, regulions and policies affecting aviion. Requirements Help Conditions of employment US Citizenship is required. Selective Service Registrion is required for males born after 12/31/1959. Qualificions General Requirements forAll Positions:
Not more than two separe incidents involving Federal aviion regulions violions in the last 5 years; Valid Ste driver's license; Fluency in the English language; No chemical dependencies or drug abuse th could interfere with job performance; and High school diploma or equivalent.Medical Requirements:
Applicants must be physically able to perform the duties of the Aviion Safety Inspector position in a safe and efficient manner, and must meet all of the following requirements: Have good distant vision in each eye and be able to read printed merials the size of typewritten characters (glasses and contact lenses permitted) without strain; Have the ability to hear the conversional voice (hearing aid permitted); Not have any physical condition th would cause them to be a hazard to themselves or others or th would interfere with their ability to fly as passengers in a variety of aircraft. In addition, applicants for positions th require participion in the operion of aircraft must: Possess a valid second-class medical certifice in accordance with Federal Aviion Agency (FAA) regulions; and Pass recurrent medical examinions as prescribed by the FAA. Applicants not requiring valid second-class medical certifices who are tentively selected required to: Provide documention from a board-certified physician certifying th they meet the minimal medical requirements; or Individuals who do not meet the minimum medical requirements but who are otherwise qualified will receive an individualized assessment to determine whether they can perform the essential functions of the position. Specialized Experience Requirements for FG-12 orEquivalent Grade Level/Pay Band:
In addition to meeting the basic requirements, applicants must possess three years of specialized experience in a passenger-carrying multi-engine aircraft over 12,500 pounds gross takeoff weight, which provided experience in each of the three cegories as described below. a. Experience which provided a comprehensive knowledge of all the following: Cabin Safety policy; Flight tendant air carrier duties and responsibilities; Cabin safety operions; FAA regulory requirements; Air carrier cabin safety emergency procedures and associed training; Passenger handling practices; and Emergency and safety equipment loced in the aircraft cabin. AND b. Experience in least one of the following functions: Conducting emergency procedures instructions; Developing cabin safety emergency procedures; or Developing handbooks, policies, procedures, or manuals in a type of work or cabin safety technical programs and procedures. AND c. Experience in least one of the following areas: Managing flight tendant emergency training, technical cabin safety issues, program management, or line supervisory responsibilities in certificed air carrier flight tendant program operions; Developing operions and training manuals, programs, policies, and procedures to train flight tendants for effective safety of passengers in air carrier operions; or Applying Federal regulions to air carrier operions th was gained in any of the following areas: Emergency procedures training programs and administrion, emergency procedures, aircraft evacuion, aircraft evaluion, emergency aircraft evacuion demonstrion; Special programs (i.e., crew resource management, exit row seing, carry-on baggage, or passenger informion cards); or Emergency equipment or the installion of such equipment. In addition to the specialized experience listed above, the scope of experience must include: Specialized experience described above th was gained in more than one kind of air carrier aircraft (e.g., make, model, series, variant); and A portion of the applicant¿s specialized experience described in both paragraphs b and c above must have been gained within the last three years.
