FLIGHT OVERSIGHT
Flight Oversight ASIs do not conduct certificion (pilot evaluing, testing, and checking) job functions as a required crew member, including safety pilot. The incumbent will not, in any scenario, act as a required crew member or safety pilot of an aircraft. Flight Oversight ASIs apply a broad knowledge of the aviion industry, aviion safety, and Federal aviion laws, regulions, and policies.
II. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The POI is responsible for aviion safety activities in a complex and dynamic air carrier aviion environment environment th includes experience in the following specialties: Operions. Applies an advanced knowledge of the technical aspects of the work directed and ensures the promotion of the highest level of safety compliance with regulory standards while utilizing transparency of da exchange th includes the identificion of hazards and management of risk. As the principal representive in regulory surveillance and risk management of air carrier activities, exercises full certifice authority over a major air carrier with very extensive and complex operions. Analyzes operions involving large fleets of turbojet aircraft engaged in large-scale passenger and freight service. The magnitude, intensity, and scope of program responsibility require significant and regular assistance of managers, inspectors, and administrive staff. Plans, designs, and carries out programs, projects, studies, or other work. Provides policy assistance to field-level Aviion Safety Inspectors (ASIs) on difficult or complex policy interpretions. Assignments involve wide responsibility for the applicion of expert knowledge of advanced multiengine turbojet aircraft and are concerned with all aspects of the operional capabilities and limitions of the aircraft. Assignments this level are of gre scope and unusual complexity, and the organizions monitored are major factors in the industry. Accomplishes work activities within established schedules, analyzes program requirements, and makes or directs adjustments as necessary to address organizional needs. Decisions typically have a broad impact on the operion of a particular type of advanced aircraft and have a significant effect on the safety of the flying public. Contacts with key officials are frequent and critically important for their assigned certifice. Maintains lines of communicion to resolve issues th affect the certificion and modificions of aircraft programs, their effect on safety management, and compliance with regulions. Typical contacts involve dealings with Part 119 officials, the accountable executive for SMS, and members of middle management, as well as collaborion with representives of other government agencies (e.g., DoD and TSA), and representives of other civil aviion authorities. Informs front-line management of the stus of all programs and projects and is accountable for the technical accuracy, proper coordinion, and timeliness of completed staff work. The POI aids and serves as an advisor to office management on all mters of assigned tasking. Requirements Help Conditions of employment US Citizenship is required. Qualificions Basic Requirements:
All applicants must meet the following basic requirements: Not more than two separe incidents involving Title 14 Code of Federal Regulions violions in the last five years; Valid Ste driver's license; Fluency in the English language; No chemical dependencies or drug abuse th could interfere with job performance; and High school diploma or equivalent.
Medical Requirements:
Applicants must be physically able to perform the duties of the Aviion Safety Inspector position in a safe and efficient manner, with or without a reasonable accommodion. Aviion Safety Inspector Qualificion Requirements:
In addition to meeting the basic and medical requirements, applicants must meet the following additional qualificion requirements: At least one year of pilot experience in multi-engine aircraft of more than 12,500 pounds maximum certificed takeoff weight. Three years of experience working in an organizion with an air carrier, commercial operor, or air agency certifice, an organizion whose work led to the certificion of individual airmen, or an organizion th opered aircraft. At least one year of this experience must be with an organizion th opered multi-engine aircraft or more than 12,500 maximum takeoff weight. Minimum 1,500 total flight hours. Must hold a valid Airline Transport Pilot Certifice. Not more than two flying accidents during the last five years in which the applicant's pilot error was involved. To qualify for this position you must demonstre in your applicion th you possess least one year of experience equivalent to
FV-I, FG/GS-13

Specialized experience includes:
