Clarificion from the agency AVS Wide/AMA-200 Duties Help The PPM (Powerplant) is responsible for certificion activities concerning repairs, alterions, and modificions developed and accomplished on powerplants off wing. When assigned by the Principal Inspector, the PPM (Powerplant) assists in the technical administrion, certificion, and surveillance job tasks which are the primary responsibility of the PPM (Fleet). Technical Administrion Within assigned technical program, assures on a continuing basis the organizions are properly and adequely organized, staffed, and equipped, have and conduct an adeque training program, including an acceptable record keeping system: and have facilities and procedures th meet all regulory requirements. Regularly s the organizion's stions and other offices to maintain contact with their management officials; coordines with the Principal Inspector for correction of any deficiencies/discrepancies. Develops maintenance program requirements for engines and APUs through participion on Maintenance Review Boards. Coordines Minimum Equipment List (MEL} for engines for approval with Principal Operions Inspector. Takes enforcement action instances of noncompliance with the MEL. Conducts enforcement investigions and prepares final reports and recommendions on disposition. Performs or supervises the emergency suspension of certifices or cancellions of operions specificions. Conducts or directs the re-examinion of certificed airmen or recertificion of an operor or agency. Certificion Responsible for initial and ongoing certificion of engines and APUs for air carriers, aircraft, and air agencies. Responsible for initial and ongoing certificion of airmen. makes recommendions on the appointment of designees. Evalues requests not previously specified in the maintenance portion of the operions specificions and approves or disapproves requests and provides additional conditions andlimitions as needed. Provides guidance to the assigned air carrier in development of required engine and APU maintenance manuals and record keeping systems. Reviews and determines adequacy of engine manuals associed with the air carrier¿s engine and APU maintenance programs and revisions thereto. Assures th manuals and revisions comply with regulory requirements, prescribes safe practices, and furnishes clear and specific instructions governing engine and APU maintenance programs. Approves operions specificions and amendments thereto. Determines if the engine and APU maintenance facilities being established or contract arrangements entered into by air carriers for the purpose of overhaul work, major repair and alterions, and other maintenance are sisfactory. Reviews changes and negoties with air carrier management to resolve problems. Determines if engine and APU overhaul and inspection time limitions warrant revision. Evalues an operor's proposed engine and APU reliability programs for compliance with nional policies. Advises operor of deficiencies and required changes. Approves/disapproves engine and APU reliability programs. Directs or participes in proving flight evaluions to determine compliance with the CFRs. Recommends changes th required prior to approval. Surveillance Directs and/or performs the inspection and surveillance of the air carrier's continuous airworthiness engine and APU maintenance program. Monitors all phases of the air carrier's engine and APU maintenance operion, including the following: engine and APU maintenance, engineering, quality control, production control, training, and reliability programs. Analyzes trends to detect a deteriorion in the engine and APU maintenance program. Analyzes engine and APU reports submitted by the air carrier to ensure compliance with the maintenance program and assures the air carrier has an effective continuing analysis and surveillance program to meet the requirements of the CFRs. In addition, applicants for positions th require participion in the operion of the aircraft must: Possess a valid second-class medical certifice in accordance with FAA regulions; and Pass recurrent medical examinions as prescribed by the FAA. Experience involving the maintenance and repair of airframes, power plants, and systems of multi-engine aircraft of more than 12,500 pounds maximum certificed takeoff weight maintained under an airworthiness maintenance and inspection program. Aircraft maintenance experience in a repair stion; air carrier or airline repair facility; military repair facility; or local, ste, or Federal governmental agency. Experience involving the maintenance and repair of airframes, power plants, and aircraft systems with responsibility for certifying airworthiness. Aircraft maintenance work experience within the last 3 years. FAA Mechanic Certifice with airframe and power plant rings. To qualify for this position, you must demonstre in your applicion th you possess least one year of experience equivalent to FV-I, FG/GS-13grade level. Specialized experience is experience th has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.
Specialized experience is defined as:
