Job Description:
Position Summary:
The Aircraft Inspector performs in-process and final inspections of aircraft systems, structures, and components to ensure conformity and airworthiness in accordance with FAA, OEM, and company maintenance standards. This role focuses on King Air, CRJ, and ERJ aircraft and requires extensive experience with repair station paperwork. Candidate must have previously held a Chief Inspector role.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform in-process and final inspections of aircraft structures, systems, and components on King Air, CRJ, and ERJ aircraft. Inspect installations of components, structures, wiring, and other aircraft items for conformity to engineering drawings, maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and approved data. Review engineering drawings, maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and technical data to determine inspection requirements. Document inspection findings, create formal reports, and maintain accurate records per FAA and company guidelines. Complete and sign all repair station paperwork including logbooks, work packages, FAA Form 8130-3, and other airworthiness release documentation. Identify, document, and tag non-conformances; initiate NCRs and support MRB dispositions as required. Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to determine corrective actions and resolve findings. Ensure compliance with FAR Part 145, Part 43, OEM specifications, and company procedures. Verify tooling, test equipment, and materials meet approved data prior to use. Support internal/external audits and FAA investigations. Enforce company FOD, tool control, 5-S, and safety programs. Promote a culture of safety, compliance, and quality throughout the facility.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required. Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license required. Minimum 3+ years experience performing inspections on King Air, CRJ, and ERJ aircraft. Must have previously held a Chief Inspector role within an FAA Part 145 Repair Station. Extensive experience with repair station paperwork, logbook entries, and airworthiness release documentation. Strong working knowledge of FAR Part 145, Part 43, and OEM maintenance requirements. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical data, engineering drawings, and maintenance manuals. Strong attention to detail and proficiency in identifying discrepancies. Excellent documentation, communication, and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and around aircraft in various stages of maintenance. Computer literate with experience using digital inspection reporting tools and quality management systems. Must demonstrate competency in English (read, write, speak, and understand the English language).
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree in aviation or aerospace field. Prior experience in an MRO, airline, or corporate aviation environment supporting King Air, CRJ, ERJ fleets. Familiarity with Part 121/135 maintenance programs. Working knowledge of LEAN, 5S+, and ACE operating systems. FCC license.
Working Conditions:
Work in hangar, shop, and office environments with exposure to high noise levels, chemicals, and dust per OSHA standards. May require work at heights, in confined spaces, and lifting up to 40 lbs with/without reasonable accommodation. Various shifts including nights, weekends, and overtime as required by production schedule. Some travel may be required for audits, training, or customer support.
