Job Overview Join our team as a School Bus Driver and become a vital part of ensuring safe, reliable transportation for students. In this energetic role, you will operate school buses and paratransit vehicles with enthusiasm and professionalism, providing a positive experience for children and their families. Duties Safely operate school buses and paratransit vehicles along designated routes, adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and mechanical readiness before each shift Assist children boarding and exiting the bus, ensuring proper behavior management and child safety protocols are followed Communicate effectively with students, parents, school staff, and dispatchers using clear English or multilingual skills when needed Maintain accurate logs of routes, student counts, and any incidents that occur during shifts Respond promptly to emergencies or unexpected situations with calmness and professionalism Uphold customer service standards by providing friendly assistance and fostering a welcoming environment for students and parents Skills Proven experience in bus driving or commercial driving with a valid driver's license suitable for operating large vehicles Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for engaging diverse communities Knowledge of driving safety procedures, traffic laws, and vehicle mechanical basics Experience working with children or in childcare settings; ability to manage student behavior effectively Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with students, parents, and school staff Ability to handle emergency situations calmly while following established safety protocols Mechanical knowledge for basic vehicle maintenance checks; familiarity with paratransit or senior care transportation is advantageous Embark on a rewarding journey where your driving skills meet your passion for working with children! Pay:
$24.09 - $34.85 per hour
