School Bus Driver

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic School Bus Driver to ensure the safe and reliable transportation of students to and from school and related activities. This vital role involves operating school buses with professionalism, maintaining excellent communication with students, parents, and school staff, and adhering to all safety regulations. As a School Bus Driver, you will play a key part in fostering a positive and secure environment for children while demonstrating exceptional driving skills and customer service. Duties Safely operate school buses and paratransit vehicles according to traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and mechanical readiness Transport students, staff, and authorized personnel along designated routes, adhering to schedules Communicate effectively with students, parents, school officials, and colleagues using clear English or bilingual communication skills Manage student behavior on the bus through positive behavior management techniques Assist children with boarding and exiting the bus, including those requiring special accommodations or childcare support Maintain accurate records of routes, student counts, incidents, and vehicle maintenance reports Respond promptly to emergencies or incidents, coordinating with emergency responders as necessary Provide excellent customer service by creating a welcoming environment for students and parents Experience Proven experience in bus driving or commercial driving with a valid driver's license suitable for operating large vehicles Prior experience working with children or in childcare settings is highly desirable Knowledge of mechanical systems related to bus operation and basic vehicle maintenance Strong communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus for engaging diverse communities Ability to manage behavior effectively and foster a safe environment on the bus Familiarity with school transportation protocols, behavior management strategies, and safety procedures Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; additional certifications such as CDL (Commercial Driver's License) are preferred Experience in working with senior care or providing assistance to individuals with special needs is advantageous Join us as a School Bus Driver and be part of a team committed to safety, reliability, and positive community impact.
