School Bus Driver (Electric)

School Principal Job Summary:

The School Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, field trips, and other school-related activities. This position requires maintaining a safe, orderly environment on the bus while adhering to all traffic laws, school policies, and safety regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Safely operate a school bus along assigned routes and schedules Pick up and drop off students at designated stops in a timely manner Ensure the safety and well-being of all passengers at all times Maintain order and discipline among students while on the bus Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus Report mechanical issues, accidents, or delays promptly Follow all federal, state, and local traffic laws and school transportation policies Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus when necessary, including students with special needs Keep accurate records of routes, student attendance, and incidents Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation officials Maintain cleanliness of the bus interior

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements Clean driving record Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and physical examination Previous experience driving a bus or large vehicle preferred Knowledge of local streets and traffic patterns

Strong attention to safety and detail Ability to manage student behavior calmly and effectively Good communication and interpersonal skills Dependability and punctuality Ability to remain calm in stressful situations

Working Conditions:

Early morning and afternoon shifts, with occasional evenings for events or field trips Exposure to various weather conditions Prolonged periods of sitting and driving

Pay:

$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
