Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a School Bus Driver and become a vital part of ensuring safe, reliable transportation for students. This energetic role offers the opportunity to make a positive impact on young learners' daily routines while showcasing your driving expertise. As a School Bus Driver, you will be responsible for transporting students safely along designated routes, maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor, and fostering a secure environment for children. Your dedication will help create a smooth and enjoyable journey for every student you serve. Responsibilities Safely operate school buses and paratransit vehicles along assigned routes, adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and mechanical readiness Communicate effectively with students, parents, school staff, and colleagues to coordinate schedules and address concerns Manage student behavior on the bus using positive behavior management techniques Assist children with boarding and exiting the bus, including those requiring special accommodations or childcare support Maintain accurate records of routes, incidents, and vehicle maintenance logs Respond promptly to emergencies or incidents, communicating with emergency responders when necessary Requirements Valid driver's license with a clean driving record suitable for commercial driving or school bus certification (depending on jurisdiction) Proven experience in bus driving, commercial driving, or related transportation roles Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus to support diverse communities Knowledge of traffic laws, safety procedures, and mechanical basics of vehicle maintenance Experience working with children or in childcare environments is highly desirable Ability to manage student behavior effectively while maintaining a positive environment Multilingual skills preferred to enhance communication with students and families from varied backgrounds Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly, professional attitude Flexibility to work early mornings, afternoons, or variable schedules as needed Embark on a rewarding career that combines your passion for driving with your commitment to community safety.
