In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely transporting passengers, including children, seniors, and community members, along designated routes. Your enthusiasm and professionalism will ensure a positive experience for all riders while maintaining the highest safety standards. Duties Safely operate buses for various purposes, including school routes, community transit, and specialized transportation such as paratransit or senior care services Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and mechanical functionality Follow all traffic laws and company policies to ensure passenger safety at all times Manage behavior and maintain order among passengers, especially children or individuals with special needs Communicate clearly with passengers, colleagues, and dispatchers using effective language skills in English or bilingual communication as needed Assist passengers with boarding and alighting, providing support for those with mobility challenges or childcare needs Maintain accurate logs of trips, passenger counts, and safety checks; report any incidents or vehicle issues promptly Provide excellent customer service by addressing passenger questions and ensuring a welcoming environment Skills Proven experience in bus driving, commercial driving, or related transportation roles Strong knowledge of driving regulations and safety procedures for school buses, paratransit vehicles, or other commercial vehicles Excellent communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse communities Ability to work with children or seniors respectfully and effectively; experience in childcare or senior care is advantageous Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle inspections and troubleshoot minor issues Exceptional behavior management skills to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally Demonstrated customer service orientation with a friendly and approachable demeanor Writing skills for completing reports accurately; ability to follow detailed instructions and route schedules Join us in providing safe, reliable transportation that connects communities!
