School Bus Driver

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting passengers, including children and individuals requiring Paratransit services, while ensuring a positive and educational experience in Howard County, MD. The Bus Driver will play a crucial role in maintaining the safety and comfort of all passengers during transit. Responsibilities Safely operate a bus to transport passengers to designated locations. Ensure the safety of all passengers by adhering to traffic laws and company policies. Communicate effectively with passengers, providing assistance as needed. Educate passengers on safety procedures and bus etiquette. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure mechanical safety. Maintain accurate records of routes, passenger counts, and any incidents that occur during transit. Assist children and individuals with special needs in boarding and disembarking from the bus. Write reports on any issues or incidents that arise during transportation. Skills Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus. Experience in bus driving, particularly with Paratransit services, is highly desirable. Ability to educate passengers about safety protocols and bus operations. Mechanical knowledge to identify basic vehicle issues and perform routine maintenance checks. Experience working with children or individuals with special needs is beneficial. Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with diverse groups of passengers.
