In this energetic role, you will operate various types of buses, including school buses, paratransit vehicles, and community shuttles, delivering excellent customer service while maintaining safety standards. Your enthusiasm and professionalism will help create positive travel experiences and foster a sense of trust within the communities we serve. We are committed to providing paid positions that empower you to make a difference every day. Duties Safely operate buses across designated routes, adhering to traffic laws and company policies. Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, including those with special needs or requiring childcare support. Maintain a clean, well-functioning vehicle by conducting regular inspections and basic mechanical checks. Communicate clearly with passengers using effective language skills; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse communities. Manage behavior on board through positive behavior management techniques to ensure a safe environment for all passengers. Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions, offering directions, and ensuring passenger comfort throughout the journey. Keep accurate records of trips, passenger counts, and any incidents or maintenance needs; report issues promptly to supervisors. Qualifications Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; commercial driving or bus driver certification preferred. Experience in bus driving, including school bus driving or paratransit services; familiarity with driver standards is advantageous. Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities in other languages are highly valued for engaging with diverse communities. Mechanical knowledge to perform routine vehicle inspections and minor repairs when necessary. Experience working with children or providing childcare is a plus; patience and excellent behavior management skills are essential. Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends as needed.
