School Bus Driver Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Must have and maintain CDL B license with Airbrake, Passenger, and School Bus endorsements. Must meet all of the educational requirements of the MDE. Must have current FMCSA Medical Examiner's Certificate. Undergo pre-employment and random drug testing per DOT regulations. Previous school bus driving experience necessary. The ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with staff and the public. Ability to tolerate stressful situations. Able to understand and have empathy for children and persons with disability. Must be able to meet physical demands of the position with or without reasonable accommodation; including, among others, lifting or moving 50 pounds or more. Must be able to demonstrate ability to read, reason and follow written and verbal instructions. The driver person shall be under the general direction of and responsible to the Transportation Director. Shall drive an assigned route in a safe and efficient manner. Responsible for transportation of students; including all responsibilities connected to operating a school bus per all applicable district policies and state/federal laws. Ability to relate to and work with parents, students, and other staff members. Conduct all pre-trip inspections as required. Follow and successfully respond to district rules and regulations. Ability to manage and maintain all students on a bus in a calm and safe manner. Shall perform all other duties necessary of a bus driver as directed by the Superintendent of Schools and the Transportation Director.Salary & Benefits:
