School Bus Driver - FREE TRAINING

As a School Bus Driver, you will be responsible for transporting students safely to and from school, field trips, and extracurricular activities while maintaining a positive and secure environment. Duties Safely operate school buses and other authorized vehicles, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Proficiency in Defensive Driving techniques with a strong focus on safety Familiarity with traffic laws, school transportation regulations, and navigation within the Monmouth & Ocean County area Transport students to designated locations on scheduled routes, ensuring timely arrivals and departures. Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to check mechanical functions, safety equipment, and cleanliness before each trip. Assist students with boarding and disembarking, especially those with special needs or requiring additional support. Maintain a calm and friendly demeanor while managing student behavior and ensuring a safe environment onboard. Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and emergency responders when necessary. Complete all required logs, reports, and safety documentation accurately and promptly. Skills Possession of a valid CDL Class B license with passenger (P) and school bus (S) endorsements Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for engaging diverse student populations. Knowledge of driving safety protocols, mechanical basics for vehicle maintenance checks, and child behavior management techniques. Ability to work well with children, demonstrating patience, empathy, and excellent childcare skills. Exceptional customer service skills to foster positive relationships with students, parents, and school staff. Mechanical knowledge for routine vehicle inspections and minor troubleshooting.

Pay:

$16.50 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
