JOB TITLE

Substitute Bus Driver

SUMMARY OF POSITION/PURPOSE

To provide safe and efficient transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district's curriculum and extracurricular program.

EDUCATION REQUIRED

High School Diploma or GED EXPERIENCE

PREFERRED

School bus driving experience

CERTIFICATE/LICENSE

Possess or obtain a CDL State of New Mexico Driver's License. Training will be conducted by

SCS- SBDI

Trainer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Obeys all traffic laws. Observes all mandatory state safety and school bus driving regulations. Maintains discipline when students are on the bus. Reports undisciplined students to the proper authority. Keeps assigned bus clean. Keeps to assigned schedule. Completes a daily pre-maintenance check before driving the bus. Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness. Discharges students only at authorized stops. Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips and daily bus route. Transports only authorized students. Reports all accidents and completes required reports. Enforces regulations against tobacco use and eating on the bus. Pass a DOT Physical Must be trained in First Aid/CPR & Defensive Driving. Attend all mandatory Trainings.
