School Bus Driver - Full Time Substitute

Overview We are seeking a responsible and dedicated School Bus Driver to safely transport students to and from school and related activities. This role requires a professional with excellent driving skills, strong communication abilities, and a genuine care for children's safety and well-being. The ideal candidate will have experience with bus driving, possess mechanical knowledge, and demonstrate exceptional customer service skills. Responsibilities Safely operate school buses and other commercial vehicles following all traffic laws and safety regulations Pick up and drop off students at designated locations on scheduled routes Ensure the safety of all passengers by enforcing behavior management policies and maintaining discipline when necessary Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure it is in proper working condition Communicate effectively with students, parents, school staff, and dispatch personnel Assist children with boarding and exiting the bus, including those with special needs or requiring childcare support Maintain accurate records of routes, student attendance, and safety checks Respond promptly to any emergencies or unforeseen situations during transit Keep the bus clean and report any mechanical issues for timely repairs Skills Proven experience in bus driving, commercial driving, or school bus driving with a valid driver's license Experience working with children or in childcare settings, demonstrating patience and understanding Mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance checks on the vehicle Excellent behavior management skills to ensure student safety and discipline during transit Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently Good writing skills for record keeping and reporting purposes • Outstanding customer service skills to foster positive relationships with students, parents, and school staff This role is vital in providing reliable transportation that ensures students arrive safely at their destinations while fostering a positive environment onboard.
