Job Description

Bus and Shuttle Driver Needed (CDL)
  • Work with Military

  • Government Charter Services, LLC (GCS) is a Department of Defense authorized passenger Transportation Company.
Our primary mission is the safe and efficient transportation of young men and women who are entering military service. Our customers are the regional Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) located in Memphis, TN. This is a great little part time job working with great people.
JOB DUTIES
  • 2 positions are available. As a driver for GCS
  • you would be required to arrive at the bus parking (at the contract hotel on Kirby Parkway) at 5:00am, pre-trip the bus, pull around to the front of the hotel, load in at approximately 0530am and drive the applicants to the MEPS 15 minutes away.
Then return the bus to the parking location. We pay a block of time from 5:00 to 8:00am. Yes, 3 hours of pay for one hour of work. Some mornings we will need both our 44-passenger bus and 14-passenger van; therefore both drivers would need to come to work and both drivers would get the 3-hours of pay. We are looking for two qualified CDL drivers to share the daily driving over a two-week pay period. This ensures that if one driver is out sick or on vacation, the other driver can cover the mission critical trip.
WAGES :
Using the Federal Wage Determination
  • the starting rate for driving the bus is $31.
55/hr . and if driving our van the rate is $23.41/hr . Averaging 15 to 21 hours per pay period. The job is part-time. Paid training. Paid Federal Holidays. No other benefits are offered.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Applicants MUST possess a valid Commercial Driver's License Class A or B with Passenger Endorsement and NO air brake restriction (usually located on the back of your license).
Drivers MUST have a current DOT physical or be able to obtain the physical. Applicants MUST provide a current clean MVR (motor vehicle report). MUST be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, random drug tests, and a background check. Applicants MUST have a minimum of three (3) years' professional passenger carrying experience.
