This energetic role offers the opportunity to make a positive impact on children's daily lives while showcasing your driving expertise. As a School Bus Driver, you will be responsible for transporting students safely to and from school and school-related events, fostering a welcoming environment, and maintaining excellent communication with students, parents, and school staff. Your dedication will help create a secure and friendly atmosphere that promotes student well-being and punctuality. The position includes paid school vacation days during the academic year. Duties Safely operate school buses according to traffic laws and school policies. Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, mechanical soundness, and cleanliness. Transport students along designated routes, adhering to scheduled pick-up and drop-off times while maintaining a positive demeanor. Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus. Communicate effectively with students, parents, school personnel, and emergency responders as needed. Manage student behavior on the bus through respectful behavior management techniques to ensure a safe environment. Complete all required documentation, such as route logs, incident reports, and vehicle inspection records, accurately and promptly. Qualifications Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for school bus driving. Proven experience in bus driving or commercial driving roles; experience working with children is preferred. Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems to perform basic troubleshooting and inspections. Demonstrated ability to work with children by modeling patience and professionalism. Ability to pass regular drug screenings. Excellent customer service skills to foster positive interactions with students, parents, and school staff. Knowledge of behavior management strategies suitable for young passengers. Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively; familiarity with first aid is advantageous.
