CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
of a Catalyst Bus Driver Hours will typically be 6:00 - 8:30 AM and 2:00-5:30 PM, and occasional mid-day trips. Bus Drivers will operate school buses, including, but not limited to, carryalls, vans, single and dual wheel. The Bus Driver will operate buses for scheduled runs in the pick up and delivery of students to and from school, mornings and afternoons, and co-curricular and other school activity trips. Drive buses on regularly scheduled routes and on field trips. Operate school buses under all types of weather conditions including but not limited to fog, rain, hail, sleet, snow and ice. Drive a school bus on scheduled routes and/or on all types of trips in support of District approved activities, both within and outside the school district boundaries. Service, inspect and clean school buses and related equipment as required by the state and district policy. Maintain control of student passengers as related to safety. Report unsafe acts or conditions, which may require the attention of any person other than the driver. Complete forms, records and reports as required by the state or local school district policies. Successfully complete school bus driver training programs and courses established by the State Superintendent of Public Instruction or the school district. Operate a school bus in accordance with the law of the State of Washington and policies promulgated by the Superintendent of Public Instruction. Operate all school bus equipment and accessories including but not limited to fire extinguishers, highway warning kits, snow chains, sanders, first aid kits, etc. Maintain a clean and orderly school bus. Perform daily cleaning, pre/post-trip inspections and reporting of findings. Perform basic First Aid as appropriate. Communicate appropriately with students, families and district personnel. Serve as courteous representative of the district on public roads and district property. Uphold and assist in enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and board policy. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities. Requires the use of ELD and multiple communication and technology systems, which may include electronic mail, computers, bus cameras, smart boards and web-based resources. Perform similar related duties in support of the Catalyst team as required.

Qualifications:
Must be a qualified school bus driver. Possess a high school diploma or G.E.D. Possess Class B commercial driver's license with a school bus, passenger and air-brake endorsements. Possess a current first aid certificate. Possess a current Department of Transportation physical certificate. Provide employment driving abstract. Possess high tolerance for noise disruption. Possess skills in anger control and communication skills with adults and students. Possess skills in operating school buses, including, but not limited to: carryalls, vans, single and dual-wheel buses. Be physically able and willing to handle effectively all duties of the position. Be physically able to lift fifty (50) pounds (WAC-96.126.096). Must have above-average record of attendance, punctuality, and reliability at work. Must have a neat and clean appearance upon arrival at work.

COMPENSATION
Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience starting out at a 40K annual salary. We offer a comprehensive benefits package to all staff, along with meaningful opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
