Boone County School Bus Operators Program Details:

1 prep day and 1 holiday (WV Day) hours: 7:30 AM â€" 4 PM on programmatic days Student attendance: 8:00 AM â€" 1:30 PM daily

Pay:

Daily rate (based on Boone County Schools Pay Scale) Positions are contingent upon student enrollment at each site

Program Schedule:

June 5 â€" Prep Day (No Students) June 8 â€" First Day of Students July 9

• Closeout Summer School Bus Driver â€" Job Description The Summer School Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting students to and from summer school programs and related activities.

This position ensures a safe, orderly, and efficient transportation environment while maintaining compliance with all state and county policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate a school bus safely along assigned routes and schedules Pick up and drop off students at designated locations Maintain student discipline and ensure proper behavior on the bus Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle Report mechanical issues, delays, or incidents promptly Follow all traffic laws and school transportation regulations Maintain accurate records of routes, mileage, and student counts Ensure the safety of students during loading and unloading

Qualifications:

Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements Current bus driver certification (as required by state policy) Clean driving record

Working Conditions:

Part-time, seasonal position during summer school session Morning and afternoon routes (may vary by program needs) Requires sitting for extended periods and occasional lifting
