Job Description
Canine Detection Handler Alabama Locations | Full Time | $35.00/hour Global K9 Protection Group LLC Global K9 Protection Group LLC is seeking a dedicated and passionate Detection Canine Handlers to join our elite team. This role is essential to our mission of delivering world-class canine detection services to our clients across the country. What You'll Do Partner with a trained Elite Detection Canine to conduct searches at client sites (corporate buildings, loading docks, vehicles, open areas, etc.) Transport yourself and your canine to/from client locations using your personal vehicle House and care for your assigned canine when off duty Maintain accurate training records and documentation in GlobalView platform. Ensure up-to-date canine health records and monthly preventatives are maintained Liaise with client managers, law enforcement, and other stakeholders Be available for emergency response, demonstrations, and standby duty (including nights, weekends, and holidays) Follow all SOPs and SOWs during operational searches and training What You Bring Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Commitment to canine welfare and operational excellence Ability to maintain accurate records and reports Flexibility to adapt to changing environments and schedules Requirements Must have a dependable personal vehicle Must be able to house and care for a working canine Ability to perform tasks accurately with minimal oversight Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends Why Join Us? Must have a dependable personal vehicle to transport yourself and your canine to and from various client locations. The working canine will reside with you in your home when not working. Operate/utilize your canine in accordance with (IAW) Statements of Work (SOW) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The handler must know how to properly secure, handle, transport and account for canine training aid material as well as effectively document all canine training to meet company standards. The essential duties and responsibilities of the Commercial Canine Handler include, but are not limited to the following: Partnering with a trained Dynamic Detection Canine to conduct searches in/at assigned client sites including corporate buildings, loading docks, delivery vehicles, open areas and/or other situations as needed Ensures proper up to date record keeping of assigned canine's vaccinations and vet visits on 'Handler SharePoint' with the addition of uploading monthly preventatives on GlobalView Providing Canine Welfare for assigned canines in accordance with company standards, federal/state laws and Institutional Animal Care and Use Committees Assisting and liaising effectively with the client's security manager, law enforcement agencies, security personnel, and local partners or their representatives Being available for incident/emergency response duty, standby duty, and client demonstrations, which includes weekends, holidays, nights, and overnights Following standard operating procedures when conducting and performing operational searches Following established training protocols and company directives in the utilization of canines Properly utilizing canine equipment to include safety equipment for canines Being comfortable interacting with clients, staff, administrators, and the public Being responsible for maintaining weekly training records on GlobalView to maintain certification Being responsible for safekeeping, shelter, and conservation of assigned canine Completing all required daily tasks, accountability of client issued materials, and daily logsCompetencies:
