Job Description

Position Summary Medical Records Courier job is to manage the secure delivery and retrieval of confidential medical records and physician orders. The employee will possess exceptional organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while meeting strict deadlines. Key Responsibilities Coordinate the delivery and pickup of confidential medical records and physician orders. Obtain physician orders and accurately record physician names, order numbers, and dates received. Plan and optimize delivery routes while considering traffic patterns, travel time, and mileage. Deliver orders to designated locations in a timely and professional manner. Retrieve completed and signed orders when available and reconcile them against current deliveries to prevent duplication or overlap. Maintain accurate documentation of all deliveries and pickups, including dates and times. Ensure compliance with all HIPAA regulations and confidentiality requirements. Complete additional duties and special projects as assigned. Qualifications Required Skills and Abilities Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organizational, administrative, and planning skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent time-management and punctuality. Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills. Effective problem-solving and record-keeping abilities. Excellent navigation and route-planning skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Experience Previous experience in a driver, courier, or delivery-related role preferred. Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional Requirements Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets company standards. Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations. Physical Requirements Ability to walk, sit, stand, and stoop intermittently throughout the workday. Frequent use of hands and fingers for handling documents and administrative tasks. Ability to lift and carry items weighing 20 pounds or more as needed.
