Assists in the mobilization/transports of patient's/visitors in reaching destination through the hospital and upon discharge. Follows all patient / visitor protocols. Ensures that requests for information and services are accurately responded to, in a timely and appropriate manner, sensitive to the circumstances of the patient's/guest's emotional situation and privacy needs. Ensures cleanliness of patient equipment. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or Equivalent Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job AHA Basic Life Support Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English Hospital Fire and Life Safety Card (Los Angeles City Employees only) Preferred Qualifications Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families Previous patient transport experience Physical Requirements These are requirements normally expected to perform regular job duties. PATIENT TRANSPORTATION
Transports patients, equipment, supplies, and other items throughout the hospital in a safe and timely manner. Complies with all infection control measures as appropriate. Ensure patients privacy and dignity at all times. Appropriately follows patient/visitor protocols. Uses appropriate body mechanics for all work activities.
COMMUNICATION
Actively engages in caring behaviors, taking conscious ownership for work and takes a proactive, deliberate, and thoughtful actions regarding work activities. Demonstrates appropriate use of independent judgement and decision making. Demonstrates excellent customer service at all times.
EQUIPMENT MANAGEMENT
Ensures equipment is in proper working order; cleans and disinfects as needed or required. Maintains inventory and records of equipment. Delivers, retrieves, and properly returns equipment to storage, keeping work area clean and organized, and traffic pathways clear.
