Job Description

This re cruitment will remain open until May 22, 2026, at 4:00 PM PST, or until 50 applications are received. Under general supervision, operates a vehicle to pick up and deliver court records, supplies and office equipment; sorts and delivers incoming and outgoing mail; assist with minor facilities maintenance such as equipment inventory, moves and assembles furniture; prints and prepares jury summons and notices for mailing; and performs other record center duties as assigned.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
Court Messenger is responsible for performing messenger duties, including operating a vehicle to pick up and deliver records and deliveries, sorting and delivering incoming and outgoing mail, printing and preparing jury summons and notices for mailing and performing other general support duties. Court Messenger is distinguished from Court Services Assistant I in that incumbents in the former class are responsible for operating a motor vehicle to pick up and deliver court records between multiple court sites and justice partners. A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above is graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalent; and at least six months of responsible experience operating a vehicle to pick up and deliver records and performing mailroom and other general admin­istrative duties; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Licenses; Certificates;
Special Requirements:
A valid California Class C driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the Court's vehicle insurance policy. Required to submit a current resume with application. Failure to submit resume may result in disqualification from the recruitment process.
Selection Procedure:
